Achievements
- I have a doctorate in Agricultural Engineering focused on safe design of farm machines and have taught our department's design capstone course for five years.
- I direct the University of Wisconsin Center for Agricultural Safety and Health - focused on interdisciplinary educational programming and research on agricultural workplace risk.
- I have worked nationally with other agencies, health professionals, community leaders and agricultural organizations on issues of farm stress, mental health, and suicide prevention.
- I have an affiliate appointment in the School of Medicine and Public Health and work with programs and personnel focused on rural health issues.
- Prior to coming to Wisconsin, I spent 18 years at University of Minnesota, and prior to that, three years with a multi-state agricultural insurance company.
