Topics
- Metabolic engineering. My group genetically engineers microorganisms including bacteria, yeast, cyanobacteria to produce fuels, chemicals, natural products, proteins and pharmaceuticals.
- Synthetic Biology. My group designs biological molecules including DNA and proteins to perform advanced non-natural functions in cells or outside cells.
- Applied Microbiology. My group cultures microorganisms for varied purposes from beer fermentation, protein production, and waste remediation.
